Head coach of the Ghana U-20 Women’s team, Black Princesses, Yusif Basigi, has announced a final 20-woman squad for what will be the inaugural WAFU Zone B Women’s Cup of Nations.
The tournament which will be held in Kumasi kicks off on Saturday, May 20, with Ghana placed in Group A alongside Benin and Ivory Coast.
Basigi has completed his tournament preparations and has reduced his team size to a 20-woman squad for the competition.
Dreamz Ladies midfielder Stella Nyamekye heads the team as the skipper ahead of the competition.
Nyamekye will be assisted by Maafia Nyame, Afi Amenyaku and Abena Anima Opoku.
The squad is made up of players from the Ghana Women’s Premier League’s Northern and Southern zones, with Hasaacas Ladies, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Faith Ladies, Dreams Ladies, and Northern Ladies all represented.

Meanwhile, Yussif Basigi’s ladies hammered their Nigerien counterparts in an 11-0 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, May 17 with Stella Nyamekye and Faiza Seidu scoring a hattrick each.
