The South Africa entertainment industry is mourning once again after a popular South African rapper, Costa Titch collapsed and died during a live performance on Saturday, March, 11th.
Costa Tsobanoglou, popularly known as Costa Titch, 28, was performing at the Ultra music concert at Expo Center in Nasrec, Johannesburg when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to sources and local media, the rapper who had a history of epileptic seizures may have been triggered from the excessive strobbing lights on the stage which caused his untimely death.
A statement from his family was shared with local news outlets on Sunday, following his tragic death and asked fans to keep the family in their prayers during the difficult phase.
“We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on earth. As a family we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and we ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves,” a portion of the statement read.
Tributes have also poured in from various celebrities and public figures including a tweet from opposition leader, Julius Malema who posted his name along with a heartbreak emoji.

Costa Titch’s death has come as a shock to many entertainment fans especially after the fatal shooting of rapper AKA on Valentine’s Day in February.
Costa who recently signed unto Akon’s Konvict music label was enjoying commercial success on his latest single, “Big Flexa” along with a remix featuring the music superstar until his death.
