Vice President of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has welcomed US Vice President Kamala Harris to Ghana on Sunday, March 26.
Dr Bawumia said after receiving her at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) “She is on a week-long trip to Africa and will be in Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, to deepen the US-Africa relationship focusing on economic development, climate change, food security, and a rising youth population. I wish@VP Harris and her team a pleasant and fruitful stay.”

She is expected to meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and some government officials.
She will discuss regional and global priorities with the officials.
Among these priorities are democracy, sustainable economic growth, food security and the effects of the Russia-Ukraine war.
She is on a week-long trip to Africa and will be in Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia, to deepen the US-Africa relationship focusing on economic development, climate change, food security, and a rising youth population.

“The Vice President will strengthen people-to-people ties and engage with civil society, including young leaders, business representatives, entrepreneurs, and members of the African Diaspora,” an earlier statement issued by the White House on Monday, March 13 said.
