Ghana captain Andre Ayew has returned from injury to play for Nottingham Forest in their Premier League match against Leeds United on Tuesday.

Ayew had been ruled out of Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola due to a knee injury in late March, but has recovered quickly enough to make a substitute appearance for his club side.

Forest’s winless streak extended to eight games after losing 2-1 at Elland Road, but Ayew’s return will be a boost for the team fighting for league survival.

They are currently 17th in the table in terms of goal difference.

Since joining Forest in the winter transfer window, the 33-year-old Andre Ayew has made eight appearances for the club but is yet to score his first goal. Last month, Ayew missed a crucial penalty that could have marked his debut goal for the club.

Despite his slow start, Ayew remains positive and is determined to make a significant impact on the team and its supporters. He signed a six-month contract and will undoubtedly be looking to make the most of the remaining games of the season.
