2023 Ramadan Cup: 30 teams to compete for inter-community trophy

“Two key objectives of the Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup, which I believe has been achieved, is using it to celebrate our iconic father, the National Chief Imam, and also bringing the youth in communities together,” Ussif noted.

He added that “… the tournament has become synonymous with the Sheikh Sharubutu, which shows that celebrating him through the tournament has been achieved.

“Considering the number of communities involved in the competition, the number of youth who come together to participate and watch, the business activities that go on around the stadium, the sporting icons who come together to watch the event, it is clear the objective of bringing the youth and communities together has been achieved.”

The 2023 Ramadan competition trophy will be provided by former Black Stars assistant coach, Ibrahim Tanko who offered that as his contribution to the event, while the Ghana FA will make available match balls and referees for the successful organisation of the inter-community tournament.

The first round of the tournament will be a knockout phase with 15 winning teams progressing to the next phase with the best loser to make it 16.
