Aduana Stars’ hopes of achieving the domestic double this season came to a halt on Sunday as they were eliminated from the FA Cup by King Faisal.

The Ghana Premier League leaders lost on penalties, with King Faisal, under the leadership of Ignatius Osei-Fosu who was appointed earlier this week, advancing to the last four.

The game ended 2-2 after Faisal fought back twice, and the Kumasi-based club were more clinical during the penalty shootout to secure a 3-1 win.

King Faisal’s famous win means that they join Skyy FC in the semis. Skyy beat Ebusua Dwarfs by a lone goal, also on Sunday.

Dreams FC and Nsoatreman also made history by reaching the semi-finals for the first time after recording victories over Legon Cities and Real Tamale United respectively.
