More than 900 agreements worth 3.8 trillion rubles (about 46 billion U.S. dollars) were signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), a Russian official said on Saturday.

According to Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the Russian president and executive secretary of the organizing committee of the forum, 43 agreements were signed by representatives of foreign companies, including firms from Italy and Spain.

Due to anti-Russian sanctions, many European businessmen visited SPIEF in the name of representatives of companies from other countries, Kobyakov said.

SPIEF is the largest economic forum in Russia. This year’s forum was held on June 14-17. Enditem
