Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has described former Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana Kwasi Anin-Yeboah as a fine judge.
Kpebu said Justice Anin-Yeboah’s judgments and writings showed that he was a good judge.
Mr Anin-Yeboah retired on Wednesday, May 24. Following his exit, Justice Jones Dotse has been appointed as the Interim Chief Justice.
Assessing Justice Anin-Yeboah while speaking on the mid-day news on TV3 Thursday, May 25, Mr Kpebu said “Usually, the yardstick we use is that we look at the judgments and then also his contributions in terms of improving the physical infrastructure of the court.
“When it comes to his judgments and other writings, you will say that yes, he has done well. I am leaving aside the political cases and I am not including that in my assessment so that it doesn’t become political, I am looking at the nonpolitical cases. He is a fine judge, you will not have any doubt that he is quite a good judge.
“With the infrastructure, I think he has done his bit, most especially his effort at getting judges accommodation in Kumasi for the Court of Appeal, which was quite a huge infrastructure. “
