One of the 10 flagbearer aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has raised concerns over the album to be used for the special delegates’ conference on Saturday, August 26.
Among the anomalies raised by the former Trade Minister is the fact the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, has been listed under the category of National Executive Committee (NEC).
“However, per the constitution the Office of CoS is not part of the NEC,” a letter written by his campaign team to NPP’s Presidential Elections Committee said.
“Therefore, the Hon. Chief of Staff is not entitled to vote.”
These concerns follow an audit done by the Alan for President (A4P) Campaign led by Nana Ohene-Ntow, the Head of Elections Planning and Management.
In the letter the former General Secretary himself signed on Wednesday, August 2, some deceased persons have also been replaced contrary to the directive of the current General Secretary of the party.
In the Upper East Region, for instance, the letter indicated that the deceased regional elections and research officer, Edward Naabil, has been replaced with one Daniel Ziba.
In the Central Region, it says two deceased officers have their names still in the register “but the names are not eligible to vote”.
In the Volta Region, the letter cites that the deceased Adaklu Constituency Chairman has been replaced by the First Vice Chairman, a move which the camp describes as “improper” per the rules.
“A4P would be grateful to have the above taken into account,” the letter concluded.
