A spokesperson for former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has said Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who is head of the economic management team has failed to give any solution to the economic challenges facing Ghanaians.

She says Dr Bawumia keeps disrespecting Ghanaians by attributing the challenges to the Russia-Ukraine war.

“Bawumia continues to disrespect the suffering Ghanaians with the farce of Ukraine/Russia causing our economic woes.

“He’s still yet to proffer any solutions to the problems caused by their recklessness & incompetence. He should spare us his rehearsed rhetoric from 2015/16,” the former Dupty Transport Minister tweeted on Tuesday, April 11.

Her comments come after Dr Bawumia jabbed former President Mahama.

Leading thousands of party faithfuls on a walk on Saturday, April 8 in Kwahu, Vice President Bawumia took a swipe at the former president when he addressed the teeming crowd.

“I won’t ask for two or three, but just one,” he began.

“Can John Mahama mention just one policy he introduced in this country in over his nearly 3 decades in politics? He has been a Deputy Minister, a Minister, Vice President and President and I want him to name just one policy,” the Vice President stated amid cheers from the crowd.

Dubbed ‘Unity Walk’, the health walk was to galvanise support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Dr Bawumia, who was observing the Ramadan fast, made the full distance to Mpraeso.

He was joined by some party big wigs such as General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye, Minister of Agriculture Bryan Acheampong, who is also Member of Parliament for Abetifi Constituency, as well as a host of MPs, regional and constituency executives of the NPP.

The Vice President commended them for massively turning out for the walk, and also seized the opportunity to enumerate a number of interventions and infrastructure projects the Akufo-Addo-led government has introduced, including Free SHS and Free TVET, expansion of roads and railways, sports infrastructure development, medical deliveries through drones, ambulances to all constituencies, mobile money interoperability and several other digital initiatives.
