Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security Palgrave Frimpong Boakye-Danquah has talked up the credentials of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, indicating that he is the best man to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2024 elections.

“I throw my support very confidently behind Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and I wish him the best that he wins and I am certain that he will be able to take this country further from Nana Akufo-Addo,” he stated.

Mr Boakye-Danquah was speaking on 3FM‘s Sunrise on the impending presidential primaries of the ruling party.

Nominations are set to open on Friday, May 26 with many tipping the Vice President to announce a bid to contest.

According to Mr Boakye-Danquah, Dr Bawumia remains one of the most influential and “out-of-the-box-thinking” Vice Presidents Ghana has had since 1992.

“You can name all the Vice Presidents that have come and tell me what they did. When you mention Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the immediate thing that comes to mind is digitalisation because he sought to digitalise the Ghanaian economy.”

The former Executive Director of Kandifo Institute has also not hidden his intentions to run for Parliament.

He is lacing his boots to contest the NPP Parliamentary Primary in the Abuakwa North Constituency in the Eastern Region.

He said the goal is to serve the people of Abuakwa North.
