Abigail Adjiri, the Season 14 winner of TV3 Talented Kidz, has finally had the opportunity to meet her mentor, Danita Akosua Adomaah Yeboah better known as Afronitaa, a member of the DWP Dance group.
The 7-year-old hearing-impaired dancer who beat stiff competition from 5 other contestants to win the ultimate title had her dream come true when she met the viral dance star.
Afronitaa, 20, a professional dancer and choreographer said she was inspired by Abigail’s talent and bravery despite the challenges she faced on her way to the top.
“I saw her when TV3 posted her and I was like ‘wow’. The feeling I had when I watched her video was something else and I knew that I had a role to play in her life so I commented that I wanted to meet her,” she told 3 Entertainment
This meeting marks an important milestone for Abigail as she always looked up to the global dance maverick.
Afronitaa’s guidance and support will be crucial in helping Abigail hone her skills and develop her own unique style.
Speaking on her hearing impairment, the award-winning dance queen said she had no idea until she saw a comment from a social media user.
“I saw a comment that said ‘Disability is not inability and I didn’t know that she had anything wrong with her until I saw that comment,” She remarked “If she’s able to be this passionate about dance with her condition then it means she’s a special one and we don’t have to make it slide”
The meeting between Abigail and Afronitaa which has been shared online has attracted positive reviews from fans who described the gesture as “heartwarming and beautiful”
Exchanging hugs and words of encouragement with the young dancer, Afronitaa spoke of her plans to push young children to the limelight through dance classes and training.
“My aim now is to push little children out there to let them know that dance doesn’t end with us. They are the future actually so if there’s any we can help them, train them and prepare for the future then I want to be that way,” she revealed
Afronita who is poised to help Abigail said she was excited about what the future holds for the young dancer as she takes on the world of dance and makes her mark as a talented and passionate performer.
