The majority of the Black Stars players invited for their crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR) have arrived in camp as the team intensify preparations.

Hughton currently has 23 players available, with only Jordan Ayew and Richard Ofori yet to join the Black Stars as they continue training for their all-important match against CAR. However, the pair is anticipated to show up soon as the crucial game draws near.

They will lock horns with their opponents on Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium as both teams seek qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Ivory Coast in 2024.

The players began arriving on Monday morning including the captain Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, and new invitee Jonathan Sowah among others.

Hughton is anticipated to step up efforts and devise a cunning plan in order to outperform their opponents in the absence of important players like Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey.

With nine points from five matches in Group E of the qualifications, Ghana would sail through with a win or draw while CAR who sit third behind Angola with seven points must win any means necessary to book their tickets for the prestigious championship.

Meanwhile, Angola who have eight points would also be clashing with already eliminated Madagascar in a bid to make it to the tournament as well.

Ghana’s game will kick off at 16:00GMT.
