Young Ghanaian rapper, Thorsten Owusu Gyimah popularly known as Yaw Tog has explained the meaning of his new nickname, ‘Akwada Nyame’.

Speaking to Cookie Tee on TV3 New Day, Yaw Tog revealed that he calls himself Akwada Nyame because of his many achievements.

He stated, “I feel like I’m doing something a grown-up is not doing, I feel like I’m doing way too much”.

The ‘Sei Mu’ hitmaker gained popularity while he was still pursuing his High School education at Opoku Ware Senior High School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

At a very youthful age, Yaw Tog served Ghanaians with his very first hit song ‘Sore’ which featured the Asaaka boys during the COVID period.

The young rapper later released a remix of ‘Sore’ which featured Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur and British rapper Stormzy.

The remix currently has 7.3M views on YouTube and has performed well on various streaming platforms.

Yaw Tog stated that it was a great feeling when his ‘Sore’ remix was a success.

At just 20, the Ghanaian rapper can boast of more than three hit songs including  ‘Sophia’, ‘Y33gye’, ‘Fake ex’, ‘Sore’ and ‘Sei Mu’.

In his few years in the music industry, Yaw Tog has also worked with other artistes in the music industry from the likes of Stormzy, Kwesi Arthur, Kweku Darlington, Kweku Flick, YPee and the Asaaka boys.
