Popular Ghanaian actress, television host, and social media influencer, Efia Odo has claimed that she played a significant role in the success of some of the biggest songs in Ghana.

Efia Odo who has worked and enjoyed friendly relationships with several Ghanaian musicians including Kwesi Arthur, Shatta Wale, King Promise, Killbeatz and Paedae believes her opinion was sought in creating some of the best songs at the moment.

In a recent interview with 3Xtra, Efia Odo spoke about her interest in music and how her “good ear for sound” has helped some songs gain popularity in Ghana.

According to her, she has a keen sense of what sounds good and what doesn’t, which has enabled her to identify potential hits and share them with her followers.

“I am friends with the guys, Promise, and R2Bees, I was with them so much it made me want to join the music. And I think I have a good ear for sound,” she said. “Some of the songs that blew up in Ghana did so because I influenced them.”

She went on to cite examples of songs that she claimed to have played a role in popularizing.

“Stay Woke By Darko Vibes, I feel like I had a big role to play with the song blowing up, Krymi had a song, and I actually helped with him,” she pointed out

Efia Odo also spoke about her passion for music and revealed that she released her own songs because she finally felt confident about her musical abilities.

“So I feel like I got a good ear for sounds so I was like why don’t I just try it so I started playing free beats on Youtube and writing songs but I never went to the studio but in the past 3 or 4 years that I’ve started going to the studio to make music,” she pointed out

She continued “I wanted to hear my sound and understand my voice. I didn’t want to sound like everyone else. When I first started it was a lot of Yo.Yo.Yo. So Kwame Yeboah helped me in finding my voice. Shoutout to him”

The actress who has been an influential figure on social media in Ghana, with a large following on platforms like Instagram and Twitter released “Getting My Bag” on January 1, 2023 but failed to top the charts and trends.

Despite her opinions and recommendations on music, she lamented that her musician friends failed to show up for her by declining to promote the new music from staples.
